Ika Anglican Charity Foundation Awards Scholarship To 15 UNIDEL Students

In an effort to encourage students  and promote excellence , the lka Anglican Charity Foundation has presented scholarship to 15 students in UNIDEL who came first in their different faculties as well as some indigent students .

Performing the presentation at the Council Chamber, University of Delta Agbor, on Friday,19th January,2024 ,the Founder/ Coordinator of the foundation, Evangelist (Mrs) Ngozi Bamah stated that the essence of the scholarship was primarily to encourage outstanding students and those with health challenges.

Mrs Bamah said seven best students were picked from the Faculties while the other seven were brilliant but indigent students .

In a brief exhortation,Evang ( Mrs) Bamah, who spoke  on the topic "Steps to Fulfil Destiny" admonished staff and students to live a godly life in order to gain favour from God. 
Making Bible reference to Mattew 1: 21, the clergy outlined steps to fulfilling destiny, which include knowing your identity, having a divine direction,serving God and humanity diligently and truthfully 

She  enjoined everyone to  combat distractions, adding that students should be focused as they  are solution to their generation.

The Vice Chancellor of UNIDEL, Prof Stella Chiemeke, who was overwhelmed by the scholarship awards, thanked the members of the foundation and assured them of partnership and synergy.

The Dean of Students Advisory Services, comrade Nwabukwu Azani, in a vote of thanks on behalf of the students commended the lka Diocesan Charity Foundation for supporting the students academic career and assured the foundation of the students' commitment to justify the scholarship offered to them. 

In an exclusive interview with the UNIDEL Media Team ( UMT)  Evang( Mrs) Bamah enjoined the recipients to identify their talents, potentials and shun all social vices like cultism, prostitution, yahooism, get- quick reach syndrome and ungodly association. She urged the students to remain focused and aspire to always be the best.

Speaking further, Evang Bamah commended Prof Stella Chiemeke for her administrative acumen, which ,within three years, has transformed UNIDEL. 

Some of the students who spoke to UMT expressed gratitude to the foundation for the scholarship and promised to maintain and sustain academic excellence. 
They appreciated the University Management for providing standard learning and teaching materials.


The indigent students are Tatie Laju( Arts), Ugbebor Benita( Arts), ldoye Onyeka( Education)  Ikehi Gift( Computing), Ani Chinasa( Education), Otuya Ifeoma( Education)and Philip Favour( Education), received one hundred and fifty thousand naira each.

 The best students in each Faculty  which includes Chukwudume Dominion,(Arts), Okonmah Raphael (Computing), Uchendu Racheal( Education), Divine Ogechukwu( Engineering), Atikoro Triumph( Environmental Science) Uzoma Ifunanya( Management & Social Science) and Micheal Ehinze(Sciences) also received fifty thousand naira each.

Present in the epoch making event included the Deputy Vice Chancellor Prof Patricia Etuna Mbah, the Bursar Mr Sunny Ikeogwu, and the University Librarian Dr Mrs Vera Okonoko.
Others are the Dean of Education Prof( Mrs) Regina Arisi, Dean of Arts Dr Mrs Caroline Ohen, the Dean of Computing Dr Okpako Ejeta ,the Dean of Students Advisory Services comrade Nwabukwu Azani and his deputy Dr Amechi Ehimate.
