Imbibe Tradition Of Universality, Registrar Charges Staff.

In a bid to foster inclusiveness, cultural sensitivity, respect, diversity, teamwork and excellent result delivery, the Registrar of University of Delta, Agbor, Barr. Richmond Omagbemi has tasked members of staff to uphold the tradition of universality associated with the University system.

Barr. Omagbemi who gave the charge while speaking to UNIDEL media in his office expressed displeasure over the attitude of some staff towards work and adaptation to current trends of doing things.

" One of the greatest challenges of some staff today is non readiness to do away with the vestiges of the old College of Education, Agbor in terms of attitudinal change"
" They must brush up their behavior in adjustment to the coming of the University.

We thought by now that they would switch to grab the opportunities inherent with the University life, but they are still manifesting that former tradition of coming to work whenever they like".

He disclosed that the University Management for the past three years had been holding trainings for the administrative staff which were substantial enough to transform them in order to meet the demands of University standards.

The Registrar noted that it was sad that some staff were still lackadaisical and playing to the gallery and advised such staff to scale up their thoughts, embrace hard work and stop frustrating the administration.

" Let us imbibe the tradition of universality. It is for the betterment of everybody and the Institution at large.

Let that old attitude stop. Let us display all sense of dutifulness, humility and respect for constituted authority".

On the celebration of the 3rd founders day ceremony, the Registrar disclosed that the epoch making event is scheduled to hold on 25th February, 2025 adding that it would feature interesting programs, including founders day lecture, inter denominational service, football matches etc.

He stated that the committee in charge of the ceremony would start full preparation immediately it is activated by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Stella Chiemeke.

Barr. Omagbemi while commending the Delta State Government for attracting infrastructural developments to the young and fast growing University said all ongoing projects, especially the College of Medical Sciences would be completed in no distant time.

For the success of uninterrupted academic sessions and stable peace in the University, he gave kudos to the host communities as epitomized by the traditional leadership.

He said the Dein and other Obis had been showing high level of co- operation and sustaining a cordial relationship with the University Management.

Barr. Omagbemi commended the excellent contributions of the three University Unions in the Institution and charged them to maintain the tempo as the Institution grows to become one of the world best.
