Members Welfare My Utmost Priority - NASU Chair.
The chairman of Non Academic Staff Union, NASU, University of Delta Agbor Branch, comrade Joel lkwu has reaffirmed it’s commitment to prioritizing the welfare of all NASU members.
Comrade lkwu made the disclosure when the University Media Team engaged him in a press interview.
He stated that his Exco would continue to advocate for improved working conditions, benefits and job security.
“ Our union’s strength lies in our members, and we shall do everything humanly possible to ensure their well-being and job satisfaction”.
He added that so far, non of the NASU member has been denied promotion or any entitlement in the institution.
On the issue of minimum wage implementation, he said JAC would be meeting soon in order to critically look into the matter and resolve burning issues.
He said Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori was a worker friendly Governor who has the interest of Delta workers at heart, adding that he was optimistic that with dialogue, NASU members will receive the right minimum wage approved by the federal government.
Comrade lkwu while commending the NASU members for always being punctual to work despite the high cost of transportation, disclosed that the Union would organize a workshop by February, 2025 for skill acquisition to enable members live beyond salary.
He also stated that the Union under his watch , has been giving financial aid to staff who were pursuing further degrees and urged those who were yet to upgrade to do so.
The chairman commended the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Stella Chiemeke for Management’s continuous assistance to NASU and Pledged the union’s harmonious working relationship with management.
