*Resource Verification: NUC Set to Accredit More Programmes ln UNIDEL*


Barely seventy-two hours after the beautiful and colourful celebration of UNIDEL Founder's Day,the Nigerian Universities Commission (NUC) has assured the Management of fair verification exercise which, would lead to the approval of additional courses/ programmes.
The team leader of NUC, Mrs. Clara Abu gave the assurance on Monday, 11th March, 2024, when she led NUC officials to UNIDEL on verification exercise.
Mrs Abu stated that NUC has been saddled with the responsibilities of giving quality assurance of academic programmes offered in Nigerian Universities, channel all external support to the Universities and ensure that that they meet international standard.
The NUC leader noted that, they were in UNIDEL to check human and material resources available for verification which include Physiology,Anatomy, Medical Biochemistry and Radiology.
The NUC leader added that experts from various fields were selected by NUC to carry out the exercise in UNIDEL and give useful advice where necessary.
Earlier in her welcome address, the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Stella Chiemeke commended NUC for its roles towards the growth of Nigerian Universities especially University of Delta Agbor, which was upgraded from College of Education in 2021.
Prof. Chiemeke disclosed that UNIDEL was ready for the verification as every necessary arrangements have been made for a seamless exercise.
The NUC officials were received by the Vice Chancellor Prof Stella Chiemeke,her Deputy Prof Patricia Etuna Mbah, the Registrar Barrister Richmond Omagbemi as well as the Bursar Mr Sunny Ikeogwu and the University Librarian Dr Mrs Vera Okonoko.
Others were Deans of Engineering Prof Obiazi Adagbonyin, Education, Prof Arisi Regina, Medicine, Prof Alexander Naiho, Basic Medical Sciences, Prof John lgweh, Arts, Dr Mrs Caroline Ohen and Computing Dr Okpako Ejaita.
The HOD of Nursing Prof. Okhiai Okhemukhokho and the Director of Academic Planning Dr Anthony Ukpene were also in attendance.
