*UNlDEL ls Set For Best Founder's Day Ceremony-Barr. Omagbemi*
The Registrar of University of Delta, Agbor, Barr. Richmond Omagbemi has said that the institution would witness the best Founder's Day celebration in 2025.
Barr. Omagbemi made the disclosure while fielding questions from the UNIDEL Media Team.
He noted that the event would, among other things, feature powerful founders' day inter denominational service, novelty football matches, and vibrant cultural displays that would showcase the diverse heritage of Delta State.
While stressing that the ceremony inspires and motivates students and staff to strive for excellence, embracing the university's values and mission, Barrister Omagbemi said the local and host communities would be involved to foster a sense of unity and cooperation.
He further disclosed that a high profile personality would deliver the lecture. He added that traditional rulers, academics, and other notable and important personalities will grace the event, which is scheduled for the first quarter of 2025.
On staff dedication and commitment to duties, the Registrar frowned at the lakadisical attitudes of some staff who were yet to scale up.
"It is sad and painful that after many years in service, some staff, especially the senior ones, are yet to embrace hard work and discipline "
"You see some lecturers missing lectures, some going late to work. In fact, it has become a habitual recurrence. "
Continuing, he stressed that there was an urgent need for all staff to imbibe the new ways of doing things, rather than the old tradition where staff decide when they go to work or carry out their assignments.
He charged Deans and Heads of Department to lead by example and show a high level of productivity, integrity, credibility, and capacity.
On indecent dressing among students, he implored the teaching staff to always check the students, especially the females, and ensure that they were properly dressed before allowing them to receive lectures .
Commenting on the level of security on campus, the Registrar tasked the security personnel to be more proactive and dynamic in a bid to arresting criminal elements who disguise as students to perpetrate Evil.
