*UNIDEL Hosts Library Conference.*
University of Delta Agbor has hosted the 32nd Annual Conference of Nigerian Library Association, Delta State Chapter.
The event which took place at the main campus of the institution attracted library scholars from different higher institutions.
In a welcome address, the chairman, Nigerian Library Association, Delta State Chapter, Dr.(Mrs) Gloria Oyovwe -Tinuoye, said the conference was designed to provide a platform for librarians to share their experiences, research and innovations, helps librarians stay current with the latest trends, technologies and standards in library and information sciences.
Dr.(Mrs) Oyovwe-Tinuoye had earlier led a delegation on a courtesy call to the University Management where she commended the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Stella Chiemeke for her strong passion for Librarianship.
She noted that while the Vice Chancellor was at Ogwashi- Uku Polytechnic as the Rector, she hosted the Library Conference and assisted librarians by providing computer systems, office furniture and other work equipment as well as sponsoring librarians to national and international conferences.

Dr.( Mrs.) Tracy Efe, Mr Daniel Eguono, Mr. Lawrence Ugulu, Mr. Blackson Awana and Dr. ( Mrs.) Vera Okonoko were received by the Registrar, Barrister Richmond Omagbemi along side, the Deans of Engineering, Prof. Obiazi Adagbonyin, Environmental Sciences Prof lsi Ikuoria and Education, Dr.( Mrs.) Florence Omumu.
Barrister Omagbemi said the theme of the conference " Redefining Librarianship: Leveraging Diversity Mentorship And AI for Enhanced Service Delivery" was apt and assured them of Management commitment towards the growth of library services in the Institution.
The conference featured paper presentations and a keynote address by Dr.( Mrs.) Gabrieline Onyedikachi who underscored the importance of redefining Librarianship.
She noted that everything was envolving, hence the need for librarians to upgrade their skills and competencies.
She also took a cursory look at the various concepts which formed the conference.
Speaking to the UNIDEL Media Team after the conference, the University Librarian, Dr. (Mrs.)Vera Okonoko thanked the Management for providing the necessary support which made the event a huge success.
