*Accreditation: We Are Proud Of UNIDEL - NUC*
The Nigerian Universities Commission NUC has poured encomiums on University of Delta Agbor for providing a conducive atmosphere forr a seamless accreditation exercise.
The chairman of the NUC Panel, Prof. Owo Chinweuba made the disclosure on Wednesday, 6th December, 2023 when the team paid a courtesy call on the management.
Prof. Owo said the team was highly impressed by the organization and visible preparation put together by the department of Sociology and Criminology.
He said that he was particularly overwhelmed by the presence of standard learning and teaching materials in the two departments.
The erudite scholar maintained that NUC for many years had been saddled with the responsibilities of making sure that Nigerian Universities meet the necessary requirements and standard adding that the accreditation was not for fault finding but, to objectively evaluate the academic programmes and give useful advice where necessary.
The NUC leader also commended the management for the warm reception accorded to them.
In her welcome address, the Vice Chancellor of UNIDEL Prof. Stella Chiemeke thanked the team for visiting the institution which was upgraded from the defunct College of Education Agbor in 2021.
The Vice Chancellor lauded the NUC for its commitment towards the growth of Nigerian Universities.
She noted that the Deans and heads of department were prepared for the accreditation exercise.
