*Let Dialogue Be Your Watchword - VC Urges SSANU Executives.*

Newly elected executives of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities, SSANU, UNIDEL Chapter, has been asked to always use dialogue in resolving disputes.

The Vice Chancellor, University of Delta, Agbor, Prof. Stella Chiemeke who gave the advice when the Association paid a courtesy call on Management, said there was the need to keep the peace and unity that had been existing in the University environment.

Professor Chiemeke urged the Chairman of the Union to lead with empathy by addressing the grievances and concerns of the members with a view to carrying the members along.

She said Management was ready to work with the new Executives, and urged them to always discuss issues with Management instead of embarking on agitations that would not benefit anyone.

The Vice Chancellor advised the SSANU Executive to be abreast with the laws governing the Institution to avoid unnecessary agitations.

She congratulated the Chairman and members of the Executive Council on their election and also the Electoral Committee for conducting a hitch-free election.

Earlier, the Chairman of SSANU, Mr Monday Eghen-Aselue thanked the Vice Chancellor and Management for providing a conducive environment for the election.

Mr Aselue said although the interest of the members of the Union would be paramount, SSANU, under his leadership would not engage in any act that could unsettle the academic community.

He promised to work with Management for the growth and development of the University.

Present at the event were, the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Mrs.) Patricia Mba, the Registrar, Barr. Richmond Omagbemi, the Bursar, Mr. Sunny Ikeogwu, and the Librarian, Dr. (Mrs.) Vera Okonoko. Others include the SSANU Vice Chairman, Mr. Godwin Osabu, the Secretary, Ufuoma Marcus Ejovi, PRO, Festus Ogwu Ossai, the Trustee, Henry Chiadika, the Treasurer, Edith Ezegbue, Women Coordinator, Amaka Ofume, and the Assistant Secretary, Abel Onyeator.
