*Rotary Club District 9141 To Digitalize UNIDEL Library, Provide Solar for Council Chamber*
As part of its vision to create hope and contribute meaningfully towards the growth of humanity, the District Rotary Club international 9141 of Nigeria has pledged to provide a solar light for UNIDEL Council Chamber and digitalize the library to meet global standard.
The District Governor, Rotarian Emeke Utebor made the disclosure on Tuesday,12th March,2024 when he led a delegation of its members comprising Rotary Club of Agbor, Rotary Club of Boji Boji and Club of Agbor- Marshall on a courtesy call on the Management of Unidel as part of the activities marking his tour within the district for the year.
Rotarian Utebor said Rotary was an international club of professional and businesspeople united in the ideal of selfless services to humanity.
He pointed out that the library, when digitalized, would enhance reading among staff, students, and those involved research work.
He noted that District 9141 comprises four states- Bayelsa, Rivers, Edo, and Delta, which the governor superintends.
The Rotary boss posited that the Club has unanimously agreed to build a cordial relationship with UNIDEL and make impactful contributions towards the growth of the institution.
Continuing, Rotarian Utebor seek the approval of the University Management to enable them to run a Rotary degree programme for interested Nigerians within and in the diaspora.
The Vice Chancellor of UNIDEL, Prof Stella Chiemeke, while responding to Rotarian Emeke Utebor's speech, commended the club for its vision of transformation, community development and innovation.
Prof. Chiemeke also appreciated them for their provision of global grants and other necessary support aimed at developing the society and the institution.
The Rotarian Club Governor was accompanied by notable Rotarians, including District Secretary Ifeoma Adejuwa,A.G ,Dr Emmanuel Tibi, Onyinye lkenchukwu and Okogwu Kingsley.
The delegation was warmly received by the Vice Chancellor Prof Stella Chiemeke,the Deputy Vice Chancellor Prof Patricia Etuna Mbah, the Registrar Barrister Richmond Omagbemi and the Bursar Mr Sunny Ikeogwu.
