*UNIDEL VC, Registrar, now Knights.


The Vice Chancellor* of University of Delta Agbor Prof. Stella Chiemeke, was on Sunday, December 17, 2023 admitted as a Fellow of lka Diocesan Council of the sacred order of knighthood of Saint Christopher and Saint Mary by Rt. Rev. Godfrey Ekpenisi at the Anglican Cathedral Church of Ascension Boji Boji Owa.
The Registrar of the institution, Barrister Richmond Omagbemi was also admitted as one of the knights-elect.
Speaking on the topic" The need for soldiers(men and women), Rt. Rev Felix Olorunfemi called on Prof. Chiemeke and Barrister Omagbemi as well as other knights, old and new to see their investiture into the order as an opportunity to serve God, stressing that they should not be found wanting in character and service to God and humanity.
He said that knights were kingdom builders who, at all times should be cheerful and willing to work diligently.
Rev Olorunfemi stated that Knights of the Anglican Cathedral Church were carriers of Christ and urged them to work toward spreading the gospel of Christ and strengthening the church.
Speaking further, the clergyman said God was not looking for all kind of people, but only those with courage, wisdom and unquestionable character, who would serve him in truth and spirit.
Speaking to the UNIDEL press after the investiture, Prof. Chiemeke expressed happiness over the investiture, nothing that it was a call to do more in the vineyard of God.
The epoch making event which also featured choir ministration, unveiling of names and tags, fundraising and thanksgiving, attracted the cream of the society including the immediate past Governor of Delta State, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa,his wife Dame Edith Okowa, the Secretary to the State Government, Dr Kingsley Emu, the commissioner for Power and Energy Engr Jerry Ehiwario, the member representing lka North East Local Government Area in Delta State House of Assembly Hon Marilyn Okowa-Daramola, traditional rulers and a host of others.
