Staff Training: University Academic Leaders Encouraged to Embrace Integrity, Excellence, and Discipline


The Vice Chancellor of the University of Delta Agbor, Prof Stella Chiemeke, emphasized the importance of integrity, honesty, fairness, discipline, and excellence among academic staff during a one-day workshop. The workshop targeted key academic personnel such as Deans, Heads of Departments, course advisers, and Examination Officers.
Prof. Chiemeke underscored the institution's commitment to academic excellence and urged staff to uphold integrity, emphasizing the value of the university's degrees. The Deputy Vice Chancellor, Prof Patricia Mbah, focused on the roles of academic leaders, stressing collaboration for goal achievement.
During the workshop, Prof (Mrs) Azuka Alutu discussed examination conduct and ethics, condemning shortcuts like "Areas of Concentration" and urging adherence to the curriculum. She emphasized the importance of teaching and examining students diligently.
Registrar Barrister Richmond Omagbemi highlighted university regulations and staff discipline, emphasizing the importance of punctuality, accurate student records, and professionalism. Venerable Olomu emphasized the significance of maintaining positive student relationships and imparting holistic education with integrity.
The workshop, held at the 500 Capacity Hall, Owa Oyibu Campus, included a Q&A session, where staff engaged in discussions. Prof Chiemeke closed the workshop, expressing gratitude to the speakers and urging staff to maintain focus and drive for results.
