*Accreditation: Former Minister Commends UNIDEL For Accelerated Growth*
As the accreditation exercise in University of Delta Agbor nears it's climax, the former Minister of State for Labour, Prof Ocheni Stephen has commended the Management of UNIDEL for the speedy growth and development of the institution within a short space of time.
Prof. Ocheni gave the commendation on Tuesday, 28th November, 2023 when some NUC officials from Abuja paid a courtesy call on the management.
The Academic Don stated that he was delighted to witness the massive infrastructural development in the new University, adding that the uniqueness of UNIDEL as well as the hospitality from the management were clear testament of the sterling leadership qualities of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Stella Chiemeke.
The former minister noted that the accreditation exercise was a divine blessing as educationists from various institutions of Learning converged for an academic assignment and to cross fertilize ideas.
He urged Prof. Chiemeke to sustain the solid foundation that she has laid in the institution which according to him will stand the test of time.
The leader of the NUC team, Mrs Kelechi Chinyere, disclosed that the accreditation exercise was to evaluate teaching and learning facilities in the departments of lnternational Relation, History & International Studies, Business Education, Accounting and Public Administration.
She maintained that they would be meticulous in their assignment and give useful advice where necessary.
The Vice Chancellor in her address expressed appreciation to the NUC officials for the visit and efforts geared towards the development of Universities in Nigeria especially in UNIDEL.
She assured the team of a seamless exercise as the Deans of the Faculties of Management Science and Social Sciences were fully prepared to volunteer the needed information for the accreditation exercise.
In the Vice Chancellor's office to receive the NUC officials were the University Librarian Dr (Mrs) Vera Okonoko, the Dean Management of Science Dr Ugbah, the Dean of Social Sciences Dr S.l ljieh, the Director of Academic Planning Dr Ukpene Anthony, heads of department and a host of others.
