UNIDEL Holds lntercesory Prayers,Celebrates VC At 61

Staff and students of University of Delta Agbor have been asked to show appreciation to God no matter what they encounter in life.

 Rev. Favour Edokpaye gave advice while delivering a sermon titled , " Unveiling the Wonders of Thanksgiving" during  the march edition of  UNIDEL prays  at the 1000 capacity lecture hall in the main campus, University of Delta Agbor

He admonished staff and students to always be thankful to God no matter the situation or state of the economy. 
He noted that  Thanksgiving was a ticket to abundance and, therefore, enjoined everyone to emulate the life of David, who continually gave thanks to God and received immense blessings from God.

 Rev Edokpaye said that thanking God requires being obedient to him, being trustworthy, and  urged  staff and students to desist from immoral activities to focus on God and be prayerful.

Rev. Cannon Celestine Obiaigwe took the prayer points, which ,included prayers for successful hosting of the 2023/2024 matriculation ceremony, peaceful coexistence among staff, students, and the host community, as well as for the VC and Management .

The high point of the well packaged intercessory programme was the celebration of the Vice Chancellor's 61st birthday. 

The cutting of her birthday cake  was accompanied by special songs, ,prayers, and dances to  the admiration of staff, students, and numerous friends. 

In an interview with the University Media Team( UMT),  Prof  Chiemeke said he was happy being celebrated by staff and students of the institution, adding that she felt  deeply honoured and proud of UNIDEL. 

Prof. Chiemeke added that she would continue to do her best and ensure that UNlDEL became one of the best universities in the globe . 

The Registrar, Barrister Richmond Omagbemi, while celebrating the VC, said he would continue to pray for her for more wisdom, knowledge, and blessings from God . He noted that the Vice Chancellor has made an indelible mark in UNIDEL, and she deserves being celebrated and honoured.

Other staff and students who spoke to UMT expressed appreciation to the University Community for celebrating Prof. Stella Chiemeke at 61.
