*Department Of Education Holds Practicum Seminar.*
The Department of Educational Foundations, Guidance and Counselling Unit, has organized a practicum seminar for her final year students who just concluded their six weeks work experience in educational counseling at various schools in the state.
The practicum seminar enabled the students to share their experiences, including the challenges they faced during the six weeks work period.
The practicum seminar, which was moderated by Mrs. Rebecca Egwuenu, saw the students take their turns to make their presentations, as well as respond to questions from fellow students.
A panel of judges made up of Dr. Ini Imafidon. Mr. Dumkelechukwu Obed-ohen, and Miss. Precious Nwuzu was on ground to assess the student's performance, while other lecturers such as the Dean, Faculty of Education Dr. Mrs Florence Omumu, the Head, Department of Education Foundations, Dr. Mrs. Mary Asabor, and the Course Coordinator Dr. Mrs. Olufunke Chenube witnessed the event.
In an interview with UNIDEL media, the Dean, Faculty of Education, Dr. Mrs Omumu said the seminar presentation was part of the curriculum to prepare the students for the challenges ahead.
She expressed satisfaction with the performance of the students during the seminar and urged them to keep it up.
According to her "the students have shown real knowledge and skill in counseling.
They should keep it up to make the educational system better".
