*Strive To Be The Best In Your Profession, Prof. Igweh charges medical students.*

The Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, University of Delta Agbor has held orientation exercise for the year one students.

In his welcome address, the Dean, Prof. John lgweh gave a brief history of the faculty and enumerated some of it's landmark achievements since inception.

He charged the students to work hard to be among the best and brightest students in the Medical world.

He disclosed that the faculty was poised to providing students with the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to become excellent Medical Professionals.

He emphasized that the medical curriculum was designed to provide the students with a comprehensive education in the medical sciences .

He added that the students would have opportunities to learn from experienced and dedicated Faculty members who were passionate about teaching and mentoring.

He advised the students to stay focused and remain committed to their goals.

The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Stella Chiemeke who was represented by the Dean of Agriculture, Prof. Helen Ajayi congratulated the students on their successful admission into the prestigious Faculty and tasked them to take their studies seriously.

The Dean Students Advisory Service, Dr. Rufus ljeh while wishing the students success in their academic journey, enjoined them to aim for excellent result in order to make their parents proud.

Topics which were centered on the welfare and academic growth of the students were taught by resource persons from the faculty.

The resource persons were Prof. A O Naiho, Mrs. Loveth Igumbor, Mrs. Queen Asiwe, Mrs. Victoria Obadoni, Dr. Kelvin Gbagbeke and Mr Godswill Okoro.

Others included Dr. Mrs Vera Okonoko, represented by Mr. Promise Aworo, Dr. Anthony Nnamudi and Dr. Clement Isibor.

High point of the orientation exercise was the presentation of award to the outstanding students who scored the highest CGPA.

The students were Daniel lshioma 4.93 and Jessica Ogheneyema 4.69.
