*UNIDEL Holds 2024/2025 Orientation Exercise*

UNIDEL HoldS  2024/2025 Orientation Exercise.
University of Delta Agbor, has commenced the orientation exercise for the newly admitted students in faculties of Sciences, Arts, Computing and Education for the 2024/2025 academic session.
Declaring the exercise opened at the main campus,  Agbor, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Stella Chiemeke congratulated the students on their successful admission into the prestigious citadel of learning.
Prof. Chiemeke said the orientation was  time for the  students to get acquainted with the rules and regulations governing the academic community and urged  them to seek  critical information that will enhance  their education.
" The orientation exercise is aimed to facilitate a seamless transition, foster a sense of belonging and equip you with vital knowledge for University life".
"I urge you to seize  this opportunity to transform your lives and make a positive impact while on campus ".
The Vice Chancellor tasked the students to be focused, diligent, disciplined  and  ensure that they make good use of the  IT center to acquire  skills that would make them employers of labour after graduation.
The Registrar,  Barrister Richmond Omagbemi speaking on, "Regulations on Students Conduct and Discipline in UNIDEL" enjoined the students to take their studies seriously and shun trouble, arrogance, examination Mal-Practice, unruly behavior, smoking and other social vices .
The University Librarian whose lecture was presented by Mr. Ugulu Lawrence taught the students the various units of the Library, it's uses and functions.
He  intimated the students  with the rules and regulations governing the University Library.
On Financial Responsibilities of Students in UNIDEL, the Bursar of the institution, Mr. Sunny Ikeogwu x-rayed the procedures of paying school fees in UNIDEL.
He advised them to always carry  out their financial transactions alone and to  be financially disciplined to avoid financial recklessness.
 A talk on " Medical Facilities and Medicare in the University System" was delivered by the Head of the medical unit of UNIDEL, Mrs. Sandra Akporhere. She tutored the students  on the benefits of registration at the medical center, types of medical care facilities and benefits of registration at the medical center.
 She also asked the students to always take balance diet and avoid preparing for examination under pressure.
The Dean of Students Advisory Services, Dr. Rufus ljeh schooled  the students on Dress Code for UNIDEL students.
He enumerated through the aid of the projector, the dress codes that  were acceptable and unacceptable on  campus.
He warned students against dressing indecently and the consequences of disobeying such directive.
On security tips, DSP. Aloysius Okhiyochie cautioned the students against keeping bad company or moving late at night.  
He noted that security was everybody's business and charged students to report any security threat to the school management or security authorities.
Lecture on Strategies for Academic Excellence was delivered by Prof. Kola Oladunmonye. He pointed  out some of the strategies to include  proper time management, writing of assignment promptly, punctuality to lectures, utilization of the library as well as placing less emphasis on social activities.
He also warned them against cultism, gambling and internet fraud.
On the Place of Sports and Recreation in UNIDEL, the Sports Director, Mr. Mike Mbibi, whose lecture was delivered by Mr. Sunday Nwabuwe underscored the importance of sports and recreation to include fitness, source of income and opportunities for leadership positions.
He added that participation in sports also help to manage stress, inculcate respect, discipline and promote social development.
Lecture on Ethics and Moral Responsibilities for UNIDEL students was handled by Rev. Canon Obiaigwe where he  enjoined students to earnestly prepare for examination, and  to stay away from violence, drug abuse,fraud, forgery and damaging of University property. He also urged them to participate in regulated religious activities and seek counsel and help at cross roads.
The Deputy Vice Chancellor Prof. Patricia Mbah along side the Deans of faculties, heads of department and directors witnessed the event.
In a vote of thanks, Mr. Makpamekun Peter Efe  appreciated the University Management for giving them the needed support and assistance for a successful event.
He also  commended the Deans,heads of departments,staff and students for their commitment and contributions to the development of the University.
