The Vice Chancellor of University of Delta Agbor, Prof. Stella Chiemeke has charged christains especially students of the institution to cultivate deeper relationship with God.
Prof. Chiemeke gave the charge during the 2024 harvest thanksgiving service at the Anglican Chapel of Grace, University of Delta Agbor.
Preaching on the topic “ our God will prosper us, with bible reference from Psalm 146, the Vice Chancellor stressed the need for christains to align oneself with God.
She enumerated the requirements for divine prosperity to include faith, obedience to the word of God, generosity and cheerful giving, prayer, diligence, humility and repentance, and faithful stewardship.
“ God prospers those who give cheerfully, smile when you are giving and give him your hearth”.
“Do things according to God’s commandants and live a life that reflects God’s glory.”
While charging the students as well as staff of the chapel to dedicate their time to God and assist in building where necessary, Prof. Chiemeke noted that faith and spirituality are essential for personal and academic success.
“As you celebrate this year harvest thanksgiving, l urge you to reflect on your relationship with God, draw closer to him and he will guide and prosper you in your academic pursuits”.
Earlier, members of the church presented an interesting drama which captured the significance of giving significantly.
The event also featured choir ministration, presentation of harvest offerings and fund raising for vicarage project.
Revd. Canon C. C Obiaigwe appreciated the Vice Chancellor and her team for their support towards the success of the harvest thanksgiving. He said the Vice Chancellor’s attendance demonstrated the University’s commitment to supporting students spiritual well- being.
The students on their part, noted that management support in vicarage project was a clear testament to the University’s efforts to foster a supportive and inclusive community that values spirituality and personal growth.
