UNIDEL VC Holds Memorial Service For Her Husband, Urges Widows To Focus On God*



The Vice Chancellor of University of Delta Agbor, Prof. Stella Chiemeke has urged widows to depend whole-heartedly on God for their daily sustenance 
Prof. Chiemeke gave the admonition on Sunday, 26th November, 2023 when she held a memorial service at Ebenezer Anglican Church Ekwuoma in honour of her husband, Late Edward Uwaganonyeh who died twenty years ago.

The Vice Chancellor said God has been so good to her and her children since the demise of her husband and advised widows to ensure that their children are brought up in the fear of God which is the solid foundation for prosperity.

Prof. Chiemeke, an Ekwuoma born Pioneer VC of UNIDEL also enjoined widows to be diligent and hard working in order to over come the challenges in life.

Earlier in the memorial service, Revd. G.l Ekpenisi in a sermon tiled" Harvest of Gratitude" attributed the success story of Prof. Stella Chiemeke and her children to their commitment to God and encouraged christians to always focus on God and invest in his vineyard.

Rev. Ekpenisi asked christians to build a strong and stable family that will lay a foundation for future wealth creation.

In a brief chat with the press, the eldest son of the Chiemekes, Engr. Alfred Chiemeke said life without his father has been difficult but admitted the faithfulness of God in his life. 
He described his late father as an epitome of humility, brilliance, integrity and productivity.

At a reception at the family's compound, guests were treated to special delicacies and assorted drinks.

Prominent dignitaries in the epoch-making event were the Council Chairman UNIDEL, Emeritus Prof. Emmanuel Nwanze, the Vice Chancellor Dennis Osadebe University, Prof. Ben Ohwojafor, the Provost College of Education Warri, Dr Dickson Oyovwi, the Provost College of Education Mosogar, Dr lsreal lmide and members of St James Anglican Church Benin.

Others were members of Governing Council, UNIDEL, the Bursar Mr Sunny Ikeogwu, the Librarian Dr (Mrs) Vera Okonoko, the Deans of  Faculties, Directors, Heads of department, Deputy Registrars, Union leaders, Vice Chairman of lka South Local Government Area, Professors from University of Benin, friends from the banking sector, Clergy men and a host of others.
