**Registrar, Medical And Dental Council Of Nigeria Visits UNIDEL, Seeks Partnership*


The Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria(MDC) has assured University of Delta Agbor of synergy and collaboration in a bid to grow the Medical College rapidly.
The Registrar of the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria( MDCN)Abuja, Dr T.A.B Sanusi gave the assurance on Tuesday, 12th December, 2023 when he paid a courtesy call on the management of UNIDEL.
Dr Sanusi said UNIDEL was on course to run all NUC approved courses because of the presence of massive infrastructures, standard learning and teaching materials.
He posited that the establishment of the Medical College was a welcome development and lauded the efforts made by the Vice Chancellor and her team.
The MDCN Registrar urged UNIDEL to be meticulous in giving admission as there were laid down rules guiding the admission process as well as benchmark which the body was still trying to review in order to accommodate more admission seekers.
The MDCN boss while enjoining UNIDEL to engage qualified medical staff as well as retired medical doctors, stated that his team would be having a meeting with the ministers for Education in order to attract Tetfund interventions to the citadel of learning for the smooth take off of the program.
He noted that running Colleges of Medicine demands high cost and advised the management of UNIDEL to collaborate with teaching hospitals in order to minimize the overall expenses.
On maintaining ethical standards, Dr Sanusi warned staff against illegal practices as the profession was committed integrity, morality and discipline.
The Vice Chancellor of UNIDEL, Prof Stella Chiemeke said the institution was delighted to play host to the MDCN Registrar and pointed out that his visit will cement the existing relationship between UNIDEL and the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria, as well as beef up the chances of UNIDEL having all the necessary requirements to run the various medical courses.
With the Vice Chancellor to receive Dr Sanusi were the Registrar, Barrister Richmond Omagbemi, the Bursar, Pastor Sunny Ikeogwu, the Dean, Faculty of Law Dr Ojogbo and Prof. Henry Igue, Dean, College of Basic Medical sciences.
