*We Are Breaking New Grounds ln Technology - Prof. Obiazi.*
The
Dean, Faculty of Engineering, Engr. Prof. Adagbonyin Moses Obiazi has
said that University of Delta Agbor is breaking new grounds in multiple
facets of technology and working assiduously to make the Faculty a
pacesetter and trailblazer among Faculties of Engineering in Nigeria.
Prof. Obiazi made the assertion at the Faculty Maiden Seminar held at Owa Alero Campus.
He
said the faculty has been provided with world class facilities and
equipment for the engineering students with modern laboratories and
workshops for practicals.
The
Vice Chancellor, Prof. Stella Chiemeke who was represented by Prof.
Okafor Tochi commended the Faculty for organizing the seminar.
She
noted that the theme" Responding to the Energy Supply Crisis in
Nigeria, A Simplified Approach to Solar Power installation" was apt and
enjoined the students to be more focused and do serious research in
order to find a lasting solution to the problem of Energy in the
Country.
Prof. Obiazi who
presented the seminar took a cursory look at technical background on
solar power system, major components/ installation of solar power
system, merits and demerits of solar power system and application of
solar power system.
He also
examined the capacity of the installation and general load management
options in order to have the best and most satisfactory service delivery
which, he described as the ABC of solar power installation.
The
Faculty also inaugurated the executive members of the Nigerian
Universities Engineering Students Association ( NUESA), UNIDEL Branch.
Those
Inaugurated were the President ,Okolie Dennis, Vice President ,Sunday
Oghenephikparobo, Secretary, Nwogu Loveday, Assistant Secretary, Omordia
Wisdom and Financial Secretary , Abere Onoto. Others are Treasurer
,Ndidi Vigour, PRO, Osasuyi Marvelous, Director of Socials, Onyeisi
Ekene and Director of Welfare, Nnekwem Chisom.
Engineering students representative council( ESRC) was also inaugurated by the Dean, Prof.Obiazi .
Some
of the notable dignitaries at the seminar included the Dean of
Computing, Dr. Ejaita Okpako, the Director of IJMB Prof. Osabohien, Dean
of Basic Medical Science, Prof. Alexander Naiho, Mr. Benedict Utalor
and a host of others.
