Choice of Women lnitiative ( CWI) Seeks Partnership With UNIDEL
In a bid to reduce social vices in the society, the Choice for Women lnitiative (CWI) ,a non-governmental organization, has called for collaboration with the University of Delta Agbor to address the ugly development in the institution.
The National President of the body, Mrs U.A. Aghware made the request when the delegation paid a courtesy call on the management of UNIDEL on Tuesday,16th January,2024.
She stated that the mission of CWI is to save the lives of people for a better existence while it's vision is to reduce social vices in the society and create a healthy environment for the up- coming generations.
The national president disclosed that cases of rape,teenage prostitution, child defilement, sexual violence, among others, have been on the increase and appealed to the management to consider a partnership that would help to educate and enlighten the students on such social vices.
Mrs Aghuare suggested that one of such ways to partner with the institution is to organize seminars and conferences,and pointed out that CWI has a cordial synergy with FMHS,FMWA,the Judiciary,UN Women and the State Ministries as well as other notable agencies globally.
Responding,the Vice Chancellor of the University of Delta Agbor,Prof Stella Chiemeke, thanked the body for the visit and commended them for their commitment towards making life a better place for the citizens.
She said management will look into their request and take necessary decision that would help the body to grow.
Prof Chiemeke, while saluting the organization for its vision and mission,said that UNIDEL management will fashion out ways that CWI will come in during students orientation exercise.
With the Vice Chancellor to receive the body, include the Deputy Vice Chancellor Prof Patricia Etuna Mbah,the Registrar Barrister Richmond Omagbemi and the University Bursar Pastor Sunny Ikeogwu
The CWl team had Mr Christopher Aghulor Ukpere National Secretary, Mrs Everista Obiajuru Efedi State Coordinator,Fred Ojie Project Director and Mrs Omonua. Others are Mrs Joan Nwachuku, Ogadi Doris,Mr Ofili Doris,Mr Ojei Fredrick,Nanven Blessing, and the media director,Mr Clinton Nwachuku.
