*Ika North East LG Chairman Assures UNIDEL Of Safety Of Students*
The
chairman of lka North East Local Government Area, Hon. Monday Odigwe
has assured the Management of University of Delta Agbor of the safety of
students at Owa-Alero and Owa Oyibu campuses.
The
chairman gave the assurance when he played host to the Management team
led by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Stella Chiemeke in his office.
He
said his council has put adequate measures in place to ensure that all
students in the campus environment have seamless academic activities.
"We
have mobilized the vigilantes and police to ensure that the lives of
students and their properties are secured. We have no doubt in mind that
they will not experience academic distortion as a result of
insecurity."
Hon. Odigwe
commended the Vice Chancellor for her developmental strides in the
Institution which, has made it among the best in the world.
The
Vice Chancellor, Prof. Stella Chiemeke congratulated the chairman on
her election victory describing him as a dogged fighter who believes in
growth and development as well as welfare of his people.
The
Vice Chancellor was accompanied on the visit by the Deputy Vice
Chancellor Prof. Patricia Mbah, the Registrar Barrister Richmond
Omagbemi, the Bursar Mr. Sunny Ikeogwu and the Librarian Dr.(Mrs.)Vera
Okonoko.
Others were Prof. Regina Arisi, VC Rep. at Owa Alero campus and Mr Benedict Utalor, a Senior Deputy Registrar.
