Alihame community Pledges continuous Partnership With UNIDEL
The Alihame Community in lka South Local Government Area, has assured the Management of University of Delta Agbor of initiatives aimed at fostering partnership and collaboration.
The assurance was given when the community led by Mr Rawlince Nwaonicha paid a courtesy visit on Thursday, 16th October, 2024.
Mr Nwaonicha said the visit was to strengthen the bond and explore areas of partnership between the community and the institution adding that UNIDEL has witnessed massive transformation because of the sterling leadership qualities of the Management team .
The group stated that they would continue to render available services to the Institution especially in the area of accommodation, security and peace building.
On his part, a member of the delegation, Hon. Fred Ofume said the community would always engage the Management in fruitful discussion for mutual benefits.
He also congratulated the institution on the conduct of the Students Union Executive election which was the first in the country to be done electronically.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof Stella Chiemeke commended the Alihame Community for sustaining peace in the University environment which had significantly made life safe for both students and staff.
Prof. Chiemeke appealed to the community to look into the rents charged by landlords as most of the students could no longer afford them because of the current economic hardship in the country.
Other members of the delegation included mr Moses Mithy and the Chief Liason Officer, C.L.O Mr Etuonu lshioma Precious.
On ground to receive them were the Vice Chancellor Prof Stella Chiemeke, the Deputy Vice Chancellor Prof Patricia Mbah, the Registrar Barrister Richmond Omagbemi and the Librarian, Dr Mrs Vera Okonoko.
