*Students Orientation: VC Tasks Students on Moral Behavior, Academic Excellence*


The Vice Chancellor of University of Delta Agbor, Prof Stella Chiemeke has tasked students in the Faculty of Social Sciences to exhibit good conduct while in the institution and target excellent grades.
Prof. Chiemeke gave the charge in an address at the Faculty of Social Sciences orientation exercise held at Owa Oyibu Campus for 2023/ 2024 year one students on Thursday, 1 March, 2024
The VC, who was represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Prof Patricia Etuna Mbah, said UNIDEL major vision is to produce sound graduates of unquestionable character.
"In this citadel of learning, you are here for academic activities and moral upbringing. We therefore implore you to be of good behaviour always, concentrate on your studies and spend less time on regulated social activities."
The Dean of the Faculty, Dr Sunny ljieh, congratulated the students on their successful admission into the faculty and urged them to face their studies seriously and avoid acts capable of jeopardizing their studentship while on campus.
On the rules and regulations of the faculty, Dr Clement Obagbinoko advised the students to be of good character and desist from social vices such as fighting, stealing, cultism, drug abuse, and examination malpractice.
The topic, Dress Code of the Faculty, was taught by Mr. C.J lwegbu. He analyzed in detail the accepted and approved dress codes in the faculty and enumerated the consequences of dressing indecently, which include abuse, humiliation, and punishment by the disciplinary committee.
Dr Benedict Azu tutored the students on Campus Sanitation and the use of University Facilities. He cautioned the students on reckless use of the facilities as severe penalties await those found guilty by the relevant authority.
Dr Dave Efeurhobo, while presenting his lecture on Examinations and Church Activities, underscored the importance of preparing adequately before examination and managing church activities in such a way that their academic activities are not distorted.
Speaking to UNIDEL Media Team UMT, the Students expressed gratitude to the Faculty of Social Sciences as the orientation exercise, according to them, was insightful, gainful, and impactful.
