*Be Happy Even In Difficult Times, Rev. Fr. Mordi advises Unidel Staff.*
The Management, Members of Senate, Staff and Heads of Unions in University of Delta Agbor, have held a special thanksgiving service at St.Thomas Aquinas Chaplaincy to celebrate the Successful completion of the 2023/2024 Academic Session.
The chaplain, Rev. Fr. John Mordi who took the exhortation stressed the importance of giving thanks to God saying it was compulsory for every true Child of God.
Rev. Mordi said the message should remind believers of the need to always rejoice despite the economic situation in the nation.
He noted that thanksgiving should reflect believers happiness and joy as the blessings of God all through the year cannot be quantified.
The clergyman added that God was aware of everyone's situation whether good or bad and expected his children to remain steadfast in serving Him.
He also enjoined Christians to use the Christmas season to show love to each other rather than planning evil or engaging in negative vices.
In her remarks, the Vice Chancellor of UNIDEL, Prof. Stella Chiemeke expressed gratitude to God for the successful completion of the 2023/2024 academic session. She commended the University's staff and students for their hard work and dedication which had contributed to the Institution's accelerated growth and development.
The thanksgiving service featured prayers, sermon, hymns and donation of money by the University Management and members of the Senate for the completion of ongoing projects in the Chaplaincy ( St. Thomas Aquinas Chaplaincy UNIDEL).
Present at the event included the Vice Chancellor Professor Stella Chiemeke, Deputy Vice Chancellor Prof. Patricia Mbah, the Registrar Barrister Richmond Omagbemi, the Bursar Mr. Sunny Ikeogwu and the Librarian Dr. Mrs. Vera Okonoko.
The Deans were Dr. Florence Omumu, Education, Dr. Caroline Ohen, Arts, Dr. Ejiata Okpako, Computing.
The VC representative at Owa Alero Campus, Prof. Regina Arisi, the Director of Works Engr. Evans Ogwu, Director of TRCN.Dr. Justice Oduma and Director of Academic Planning, Dr. Anthony, Director of lJMB, Prof. E. Osabohien and Director of JUPEB Dr. Felicia Mormah, also attended.
The Heads of departments present included Dr.Mrs E Q Umudi, Dr. Mrs Helen Ajudeonu, Dr. Mrs Alordiah, Dr. C N lsibor, Dr. Mrs Ojie Deborah, Dr. Ernest Chukwuka, Dr. Mrs Olufunke Chenube, Dr. Mrs P.C Chijindu.
Others are Prof. Tochukwu Okafor, Dr. Oghe Henry, Dr. Mrs E.S Mughele, Dr. Idegwu Clement and Dr. Mrs. Malasowe Bridget.
