    *DON'T NEGLECT YOUR GOD - REV. FR. MARIO TELLS UNIDEL COMMUNITY. *

    Christians have been asked not to disconnect from God if they were to experience growth and development in 2025.

    Rev. Fr. Mario Dibie, Priest in Charge of St. Donatus Catholic Church, Owanta gave the charge at the first edition of the Monthly Intercessory Prayer for 2025 of the University of Delta, Agbor.

    Rev. Fr. Dibie said apart from God which is the original source, Christians should not abandon their parents, teachers and communities to avoid unwholesome consequences.

    He enumerated some dangers associated with forgetting God to include, stoppage of daily supply, spiritual death, exposure to evil attacks and struggling to survive in life.

    The priest who took his message from Jn. 15:5-6 said neglecting God would also lead to defeat and being mocked by the enemies among others.

    In her welcome address the Vice Chancellor of University of Delta, Agbor, Prof. Stella Chiemeke expressed gratitude to Management, staff and students, of the University for their cooperation and adherence to the rules and regulations that govern the Institution.

    Prof. Chiemeke urged them to maintain decorum and strive for continued growth and development of the University this year.

    She urged the students to take their academic studies seriously and reminded them to be focused and committed to their course work as the examination period was fast approaching.

    The event also witnessed intercessory prayer session which was moderated by Rev. Favour Edokpayi, General Overseer, Peniel Royal Assembly, while the closing remarks was delivered by the Registrar, Barrister Richmond Omagbemi.

    The intercessory prayer was also attended by the Deputy Vice Chancellor Prof. Patricia Mbah, the Bursar, Mr. Sunny Ikeogwu, the Librarian, Dr. Vera Okonoko, Deans, Directors, Heads of Departments, staff and students of the University who were fully engaged in praise and worship to usher in the new academic year.
