*Comr. Eghen-Aselue Chuks, Others Win SSANU Bye Elections.*
Comrade Eghen-Aselue Chuks has won the bye election for the position of chairman, Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities,SSANU, UNIDEL Branch.
Declaring the results, the National Vice Chairman and Chairman SSANU, South- South Zone, Comrd. Azumah Cheta Ugochukwu said Comrd. Eghen-Aselue pulled 169 votes while Umukoro Oghenekaro scored 162 votes.
For the position of Vice Chairman, Godwin Osabu scored 244 to defeat lnnocent Udoh who garnered 88 votes.
Comrade Ejovi Ufuoma was announced as the Secretary having scored 254 votes against his rival, Fidelis Obuh who scored 75 votes.
Festus Ossai and Chiadika Henry were returned unopposed as Public Relations Officer and Trustee respectively.
Comrd. Eghen-Aselue in an interview with The UNIDEL Media expressed gratitude to all SSANU members and pledged to carry everyone along in the discharge of his duties as the chairman. He noted that the welfare of the Union members would remain his priority.
Earlier, Comrade Azumah Cheta Ugochukwu paid a courtesy call on the Management of University of Delta Agbor.
He expressed satisfaction with the cordial relationship existing between SSANU and Management of the University.
Responding,the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Stella Chiemeke called for a free and fair election and prayed that the best candidates win.
Prof. Chiemeke informed the SSANU leader that the Institution has been having a hitch free relationship with SSANU and assured him that Management would continue to sustain it.
