*Orientation Exercise: UNIDEL VC Charges Students To Shun Social Vices, Focus On Academics*


The Vice Chancellor of University of Delta Agbor, Prof Stella Chiemeke has charged the newly admitted students in faculties of Engineering and Environmental Sciences, University of Delta Agbor, to take their studies seriously and shun all social vices such as cultism, drug abuse, forgery, stealing, smoking and laziness.

Prof. Chiemeke gave the charge while declaring the orientation exercise opened at the Owa Alero Campus. 

Represented by the Registrar of the institution, Barrister Richmond Omagbemi, the VC stated that the University Management has zero tolerance for all social vices and maintained, that any student who disobeys the school regulations will face disciplinary actions which could lead to expulsion.

She therefore, enjoined the students to attend lectures regularly, do assignments and target good grades.

The Registrar in his lecture "Students Conduct and Discipline in UNIDEL" warned the students against arrogance, examination mal-practice, unruly behavior and misplacement of priorities.

The Bursar of the institution Mr Sunny Ikeogwu educated the students on the procedures of paying school fees and how to be financially disciplined.

The use of the University Library was presented by Mr Ugulu Lawrence while Medical Facilities and Medicare in UNIDEL was extensively delivered by Mrs Sandra Akporhere.

On security tips, DSP Aloysius Okhiybochie advised students to always be security conscious and report to the security authority whenever they observed security threat or strange movement in their locality.

The Dean of Students Advisory Services comrade Nwabukwu Azani tutured the students on Dress Code .

The place of Sports and Recreation was handled by the UNIDEL Acting Director of Sports Mr Mike Mbibi who also emphasized the gains of participating in sports.

In the last lecture, delivered by Rev. Canon Obiaigwe who spoke on Ethics and Moral Responsibilities for UNIDEL Students. He enjoined students to be law abiding and take every academic activities seriously. He also urged them to join regulated religious or social groups.

The Acting Dean of Students Advisory Services comrade Nwabukwu Azani in his vote of thanks commended  the University Management for giving his division the necessary support to organize a successful orientation exercise.
