*Faculty Orientation: VC Charges Students to Embrace Hardwork, Discipline*


The Vice Chancellor of the University of Delta Agbor, Professor Stella Chiemeke, has charged newly admitted students for 2023/2024 academic session to take their studies seriously in order to obtain excellent results.
The Vice Chancellor gave the charge during the orientation exercise at the Faculty of Science held on Wednesday, 7th February 2024.
Professor Chiemeke, who was represented at the event by her Deputy, Prof Patricia Etuna Mbah, advised the students to engage with their peers, seek guidance from their lecturers, and maintain highest level of discipline.
"As you step into the hallowed halls of academia, you are not just entering a place of learning, but a community that thrives on diversity, curiosity, and collaboration.
"In the coming years, you will be challenged, inspired, and empowered to think beyond the ordinary, to question the status quo, and to contribute meaningfully to the world around you."
In his address, the Dean of the Faculty Prof. Emmanuel Osabohien thanked the staff and students for their commitments. He noted that the faculty is made up of seven departments and twelve programmes.
While enjoining the students to be law abiding, dedicated, respectful, peaceful and diligent, Prof Osabohien stated that the vision of the faculty remains, to be internationally recognized as a faculty with a global passion that meets the dynamic needs of the society by training leaders that, shall embrace value addition for the growth and development of mankind.
The Dean added that the faculty will reach new frontiers as its mission in scientific and technological knowledge by providing leadership in teaching, learning and research using cutting edge and traditional technologies to meet the current educational needs in order to surmount the myriad of challenges facing humanity and the society.
Lectures on Attendance, Lecture and Examination, Dress Code, Ethics, Hygiene/ Sanitation and Cultism were taken by Dr R.O ljieh, ms Ohioremu Okeoghene, Dr (Mrs) l.M Oyem and Mr. Kester Utebor respectively. They tutored the students all that they needed to have a seamless and successful academic activity in UNIDEL.
