Founder's Day Celebration: UNIDEL Management Visits Traditional Rulers, Receives Royal Blessings, Support

Ahead of the second Founder's Day Celebration of University of Delta Agbor, and One Billion Fund Raising for lka Language and Cultural Research Centre, the Vice Chancellor, Prof Stella Chiemeke on Tuesday,6th February,2024 led the management team to officially inform the traditional rulers in lka Nation of the event.

At Owa Oyibu,the Vice Chancellor had an impactful deliberation with prominent chiefs. She appreciated the Obi of Owa Kingdom,His Royal Highness, Obi Emmanuel Efeizomor  the second , for the relative peace that has been experienced in Owa Oyibu and Owa Alero Campuses making academic activities smooth and seamless. 

Prof. Chiemeke also informed the monarch that the University has recorded many successes in recent time especially the successful  accreditation exercise which has increased the Faculties from 9  to 12  . 
She noted that the University now run 85 programmes including Medicine, Nursing and Basic Medical Sciences.

 The Vice Chancellor informed the King and his chiefs  of the institution's plan to establish the Ika Language and Cultural Research Centre which will be of immense benefit to lka people. 
She said the research center will help to know the history of lka,it's language, culture , marriage, burial and food. 

 Responding,the Obi of Owa,HRM ,Obi Emmanuel Efeizomor the second commended the Vice Chancellor and her management team for the speedy growth of the institution within three years and assured her of massive support for the Founder's Day Celebration and Fund Raising for lka Language and Cultural Research Centre.

 At the palace of the Dein of Agbor Kingdom, His Royal Highness,Dr Keagborekuzi Benjamin Ikechukwu , the Vice Chancellor also informed the chiefs of the UNIDEL Founder's Day Celebration and Fund Raising for lka Language and Cultural Research Centre. 

Chief Ogwun O. Benjamin J.P,the head of administration received the Vice Chancellor's entourage and spoke on behalf of the Dein who was absent.
 He said  the kingdom will give every necessary support to ensure the success of the event.

The Vice Chancellor was accompanied  to the visits by the Deputy Vice Chancellor Prof Patricia Etuna Mbah, the Registrar Barrister Richmond Omagbemi, the Bursar Mr Sunny Ikeogwu and the University Librarian Dr Mrs Vera Okonoko. Others were the members of the planning committee led by Dr Sam Ojogbo.

The Founder's Day Celebration and Fund Raising for lka Language and Cultural Research Centre is slated for 8th March,2024 at University Main Campus with the theme " Transforming Potential into Prosperity: Harnessing Nigeria 's Youthful Population for Economic Growth and National Renaissance".
 The Special Guest of Honour is Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori,the Executive Governor of Delta State while the Guest Lecturer is Dr Ebenezer Onyeagwu,CEO,Zenith Bank,PLC.
