*Your Education ls Ultimately In Your Hands, UNIDEL VC Tells Fresh Students*


The Vice Chancellor of University of Delta Agbor, Prof Stella Chiemeke(KSM), has urged the newly admitted students to be focused as their quest for sound education rests on them.

Prof. Chiemeke stated this on Thursday, 7th December, 2023 during the 2023/2024 orientation exercise for faculties of Law, Management Sciences and Social Sciences at the Owa Oyibu Campus.

The Vice Chancellor told the students to be  grateful to God for being among the successful students who applied for admission and work hard to ensure they graduate with excellent grades at the end of their academic program.

She also enjoined the students to manage their time very well and seek for help or advice when faced with challenges.

The Registrar while delivering his lecture on" Students Conduct and Discipline" enjoined the students to shun  arrogance, examination mal- practice, unruly behavior and misplacement of priorities.

Mr Sunny Ikeogwu, the Bursar of UNIDEL, enlightened the students on the procedures for the  payment of all fees and ways to be financially disciplined.

The effective use of the University library was handled by Mr Ugulu Lawrence while Mrs Sandra Akporhere spoke on the functions of the health center, the importance of registration as well as the use of the medical facilities.

On security, DSP Aloysius Okhiybochie enlightened the students on some security tips especially on campus.
He warned them against cultism, drug abuse and encouraged them to report to security authorities  whenever they suspect strange people or movement around their hostels or places of residence.

The Dean of Students Advisory Services comrade Azani spoke on the University dress code and condemned all forms of indecent dressing.

The place of Sports and Recreation was taught by Mr Mike Mbibi, the Acting Director of Sports. He enlightened the students on numerous gains of participating in sports.

Rev. Canon Obiaigwe took the students on " Ethics and Moral Responsibilities for UNIDEL Students". He admonished them to be law abiding and take their academic activities with all sense of seriousness. He also advised them to join regulated religious or social groups.

In his remarks, the Dean of Advisory Services comrade Nwabukwu Azani thanked the Vice Chancellor and the  management team for making the orientation exercise a success.
