Faculty of Computing, UNIDEL Holds Maiden Seminar

The Faculty of Computing, University of Delta Agbor,on Wednesday,6th December,2023 held  its maiden edition of Seminar Series on the theme" Building Effective Research Skills,Course Advising and Assessment in a University.

Declaring the event opened,the Vice Chancellor of University of Delta Agbor, Prof Stella Chiemeke congratulated the faculty on the steps taken so far in making sure that the seminar became a reality.

The VC said she was proud of the faculty and particularly impressed by the topic for the seminar which was interesting and  well timed. 

The VC added that the Faculty of Computing has been displaying high level of commitment, discipline and co- operation and  applauded the faculty for their  involvement and performance during the accreditation exercise. 

Prof. Chiemeke paid tributes to Prof. O.S Adewale whom,she said,had contributed immensely in the growth of the Faculty.

In his welcome address,the Dean of Faculty of Computing,Dr E.A Okpako thanked the Vice Chancellor Prof Stella Chiemeke for her support,  and guidance given to the faculty for the seminar as well as the concluded accrditation exercise.

Dr Okpako said the faculty was  a promising and emerging faculty armed with four departments ,which are ICT, Software Engineering,Computer Science and Cyber Science, pointing  out that the mission of the faculty is to produce graduates in character and in learning that are skilled,and IT competent to fit into the 21st century workforce.

 The Seminar paraded four distinguished and erudite professors with vast knowledge in the field of Computing, Engineering and lnformation Technology. 

The first presentation was made by Prof. O.S Adewale on while Prof  V. V. N Akwukwuma lectured on Course Advising in the University System.

The other two topics" Preparation of questions, marking Schemes,Grading in Theory and Practical Courses and The good,the bad and the ugly of attitude to work in the University System were taught by Prof. S.O Anigbogu and Prof. Obiazi respectively.
