The Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Delta Agbor, Prof. Ben Nwanne, has expressed his determination to place the faculty on a competitive pedestal of excellence.
Prof. Nwanne, stated this while responding to questions from UNIDEL Media Team at his office, in Owa Oyibu.
He stated that he would enhance the quality of academic programs, research and teaching, foster a culture of innovation and mentorship among students.
“ Part of my strategic plans is to transform the Faculty of Social Sciences into a hub of academic excellence, innovation and research. We shall strive to produce graduates who are equipped with the knowledge, skills and competencies necessarily required to compete in the global job market”.
Prof. Nwanne disclosed that the faculty’s journal would be out soon and enjoined staff in the faculty especially the teaching to continue to publish in order to upgrade themselves.
On the state of the faculty building complex, he noted that there was substantial progress as observed by the management during a recent inspection.
While commending the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Stella Chiemeke for sustaining accelerated growth in the young university, Prof. Nwanne, urged lecturers in the institution to take the teaching profession seriously by impacting sound knowledge on the students.
He added that the Vice Chancellor was an epitome of integrity who strongly believes in due process in achieving desired results.
