Supporting Students for Academic and Career Success

The Career Development and Counselling Centre (CDCC) provides a coordinated platform for academic counselling, personal effectiveness, career planning, employability training, leadership development, mentorship and employer engagement.

The Centre supports students in making informed academic and career decisions, developing confidence and motivation, and building connections with employers, professional bodies and other stakeholders. In line with Pillar ‘E’ of Project RAISE UNIDEL Higher, the Centre contributes to creating an enabling environment for the development of well-rounded and globally competitive graduates.

Key Functions

  • Provide guidance and counselling to students on academic, behavioural and career-related matters.
  • Promote best practices in study skills, academic conduct, time management, examination preparation and performance improvement.
  • Organise career guidance talks, motivational and character-building seminars, leadership training, mentorship programmes and professional-development workshops.
  • Provide information on academic scholarships, employment opportunities and professional certifications.
  • Organise career fairs, employer forums, recruitment events and professional networking programmes.
  • Build partnerships with prospective employers, industries, government agencies, professional bodies and development organisations.
  • Conduct graduate tracer studies and obtain employer feedback on the skills and performance of UNIDEL graduates.
  • Provide labour-market information to faculties and departments to support curriculum improvement, job relevance and graduate employability.

Expected Outcomes

The Centre aims to promote improved academic performance, student well-being, informed career choices, stronger job-readiness and employability skills, increased access to employers, closer employer relationships and better career futures for UNIDEL graduates.
