Ensuring Academic Quality and Compliance

The Directorate of Academic Quality Compliance (DAQC) is responsible for monitoring, regulating, overseeing and sustaining quality standards across the University’s academic programmes, including pre-degree, non-degree, undergraduate, postgraduate and part-time programmes.

The Directorate bridges the operational gap in the dissemination, monitoring and enforcement of academic quality standards in line with the extant rules, regulations, procedures and timelines enshrined by the Senate of the University.

Key Functions

Disseminate academic rules, regulations and quality standards through sensitisation and enlightenment of lecturers and students

Monitor the conduct of CBTs for orderliness, efficiency and integrity.

Investigate and report on malpractices, breaches and violations of academic quality and integrity, as well as matters relating to student-lecturer interactions and the delivery of academic services referred to the Directorate by the Vice-Chancellor.

Coordinate and supervise the Examinations Monitoring Committee to ensure orderliness and integrity of course examinations.

Elicit, track and report student feedback on the delivery and effectiveness of course lectures.

Coordinate and supervise the Lectures Monitoring Committee to ensure punctuality, regularity and quality of lecture delivery.

Verify and report infractions, violations and irregularities relating to lectures, examination questions and examinations at department, faculty and inter-faculty levels, including CBTs.
