UNIDEL Strengthens Security Collaboration with Nigeria Police Force
A safe university environment is fundamental to effective learning, research and student life. At UNIDEL, strengthening that environment remains a priority.
The University of Delta, Agbor, has reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with security agencies to promote peace, law, order and security across its campuses.
The commitment was reinforced during a courtesy visit by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Agbor Division, Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Joseph Sunmonu, to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Eric Eboh, on Tuesday, June 9, 2026.
During the visit, CSP Sunmonu congratulated the Vice-Chancellor and emphasised the importance of genuine cooperation between the Nigeria Police Force and the University, particularly on matters concerning students and campus security.
Security as a University Priority
Responding to the DPO, Prof. Eboh commended CSP Sunmonu for his professionalism and commitment to security and assured him of UNIDEL’s readiness to work closely with the Nigeria Police Force.
The Vice-Chancellor stressed that security remains a top priority for the University.
As part of efforts to deepen collaboration with security agencies, he announced plans to incorporate the DPO into the University’s enlarged security committee.
The engagement reflects UNIDEL’s broader commitment to creating an environment where students and staff can pursue teaching, learning, research and other academic activities with confidence.
